Folder

With the Folder resource, the teacher can display several files or sub-folders. He/she can either upload a zipped folder and unzip it, or create a folder directly in Cyberlearn and add files to it. The student simply clicks on the icon to view the contents of the folder.

It's often more practical to display documents in a folder than to display them separately by creating a long list.

Folder content display can be modified in the resource settings.

To add a resource to your course :

1. Activate the Edit mode in the top right-hand corner

2. Meet at the desired location

3. Click on the + symbol that appears when hovering over the course area

4. Select the desired resource

5. Set the parameters to suit your needs

File

The File resource allows the teacher to provide students with a file such as a Word document or PowerPoint presentation.

Any type of file can be uploaded in two different ways:

· by dragging and dropping the document in question into the course space

· by adding the resource File

The file display can be modified in the resource parameters.

To add a resource to your course :

1. Activate the Edit mode in the top right-hand corner

2. Meet at the desired location

3. Click on the + symbol that appears when hovering over the course area

4. Select the desired resource

5. Set the parameters to suit your needs

Image gallery

The Image Gallery resource lets you create and share image collections with students. Teachers can upload a set of images to this gallery, whether to illustrate a lesson, share visual resources or showcase examples of student work.

Students can browse the gallery at their own pace, zoom in on images to see them in detail, and leave comments or questions on individual images, according to the parameters they have set.

This activity is different from the Multimedia Collection resource: using the Multimedia Collection, students are their own editors of added content.

To add a resource to your course :

1. Activate the Edit mode at top right

2. Meet at the desired location

3. Click on the + symbol that appears when hovering over the course area

4. Select the desired resource

5. Set the parameters to suit your needs

Book

The Book resource lets you create pages organized by chapter. Teachers can organize course material in a hierarchical, easy-to-navigate way.

Each book can contain several chapters, and each chapter can contain several sub-chapters in which to include text, images, videos, links to other resources and interactive activities.

Students can navigate through the book using the table of contents, making it easy to find specific sections.

To add a resource to your course :

1. Activate the Edit mode in the top right-hand corner

2. Meet at the desired location

3. Click on the + symbol that appears when hovering over the course area

4. Select the desired resource

5. Set the parameters to suit your needs

Page

Using the Page resource, teachers can display text, images, URL links or multimedia files in a dedicated space.

It's often more practical to display content on a page: this avoids access problems for users who don't have the right software to open the document.

To add a resource to your course :

1. Activate the Edit mode in the top right-hand corner

2. Meet at the desired location

3. Click on the + symbol that appears when hovering over the course area

4. Select the desired resource

5. Set the parameters to suit your needs

URL

By using the URL resource, teachers can facilitate their students' Internet searches. There are several display options: for example, the URL can be displayed in a new window, enabling students to carry out their searches without losing their course space, which always remains open on the screen.

To add a resource to your course :

1. Activate the Edit mode in the top right-hand corner

2. Meet at the desired location

3. Click on the + symbol that appears when hovering over the course area

4. Select the desired resource

5. Set the parameters to suit your needs

Text and media zone

A Text & Media Zone is used to separate resources or activities within a course space. You can insert text, images, mp3 files, videos or even HTML code. A Text & Media Zone can be used to display banners.

It's a resource that can be used to improve the presentation of your course or to create sub-sections.

Note that if you have a lot of media files to display, using text and media zones may slow down the loading of your course. In this case, it would be preferable to display them in a Page.

To add a resource to your course :

1. Activate Edit mode at top right

2. Meet at the desired location

3. Click on the + symbol that appears when hovering over the course area

4. Select the desired resource

5. Set the parameters to suit your needs

Moodle's capacity for integrating external resources through iframes and text/media area resources plays a crucial role in keeping Cyberlearn's core services streamlined and efficient.

This method allows for the seamless incorporation of a wide array of functionalities without burdening the system with heavy components. The integration of tools like Wooclap, which is part of the HES-SO catalogue, exemplifies the straightforward process of enhancing Moodle's capabilities while maintaining system integrity.

The approach also offers flexibility in license fee management, avoiding the complexities and costs associated with component development or deployment within the whole HES-SO ecosystem.

Our team is dedicated to collaborating with teachers to explore and implement new integrations, ensuring that each addition enriches the educational experience without compromising system performance.

This strategy not only preserves the system's responsiveness but also opens up innovative avenues for educational tools in a sustainable manner.
